Creating Mini-Libraries inside the classroom.

As we start realize the importance of reading, its the time to create mini libraries in the classrooms in order to encourage students to read and to raise their level to become good readers.

If the school can't afford to buy the books, we can start by asking students to volunteer and bring one story or book they wish others to read and by that we can start building our library.

Asking for students' help in organizing the library will have a great impact and influence on them. Students will start to love reading when we give them the freedom to choose the book they like, and when they read for pleasure.

Classroom library.

In order to give students the right book according to their level we can use scholastic websites to level the books using letter and by that we can ensure that each student is reading the book which fits his/her level after testing them and knowing their levels.

We we have libraries in the classrooms we can give two sessions per week for reading, therefore the teacher with students' help will organize in the class a zone which will be known as reading area and they will go and read and they can have a small discussion when they finish reading the book.

  1. That is a great idea. I feel that reading is not getting the attention it should specifically reading for fun. I admire your will to work harder on this issue.
